How to download design templates from the Catalog

Overview

This article explains how to download design templates from the BurgerPrints Catalog.

It helps users create design files with the correct dimensions, resolution, and print areas. It also helps them avoid common design issues before uploading files.

How To Download Design Templates From The Catalog

Step 1: Open the product in the Catalog

  • On the Dashboard, go to Catalog.

  • Search for the product you want to design.

  • Open the product detail page.

Step 2: Scroll to the Decorations section

  • On the product detail page, scroll down to the Decorations section.

In this section, you can review product information such as:

  • Sizes

  • Design dimensions

  • Product weight

This information helps you choose the correct design template.

Step 3: Download the design template

  • In the File template column of the Decorations section, click Download.

The system downloads the design template. You can open it and start editing.

The downloaded design template shows the print area dimensions, resolution (DPI), and the Safe zone.

Follow these specifications when editing your design file. Place all important design elements inside the Safe zone to ensure accurate printing and avoid content being cut off or misaligned.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Always download the design template from the Catalog for each product.

  • Do not change the canvas size or resolution of the template file.

  • Use the design dimensions shown in the Decorations section as your reference.

  • Review design guidelines before uploading your final design file.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why should I download the design template from the Catalog? Design templates ensure your design file matches the correct size, resolution, and print area for each product.

  2. Can I reuse the same design template for different products? In some cases, yes - but use caution. You can reuse a design template only when products have exactly the same design specifications, including:

    • Product type

    • Shape and print method

    • Canvas size and print area

Some products within the same category (for example, certain mugs, ornaments, or 3D products) may share the same template.

However, even small differences in size, shape, or print area require a different template. To avoid design errors, BurgerPrints strongly recommends downloading the design template from the product detail page for each product before creating or uploading your design file.

  3. Does resizing the template affect print quality?

Yes. Resizing the design template can affect print quality and placement. Changing the template size may cause your design to stretch, lose resolution, or shift outside the intended print area. Tip: Always keep the original template size and resolution, and place your design within the provided canvas to ensure accurate printing.
