Overview

This article explains the identity verification (KYC) process required before adding a new credit or debit card to your BurgerPrints account. It is for users who want to add payment methods and need to understand the verification requirements and card management rules.

You will learn how KYC verification works, the verification status indicators, card addition rules, and the security limits that apply to new cards and top-ups. After reading this article, you will be able to complete verification successfully and add cards with confidence.

Before you begin, make sure you have an accepted form of government-issued identification (ID card, passport, or driver’s license) and access to your BurgerPrints account.

About KYC Verification Process

KYC (Know Your Customer) is a standard security practice that helps us verify your identity, protect your account from fraud, and comply with payment regulations.

When Is KYC Required?

You must complete KYC verification when you attempt to add a new credit or debit card to your account. If you have never completed KYC before, you cannot add a card until verification is finished.

Each account only needs to complete KYC once. Existing cards that were previously approved remain usable without additional verification.

KYC Status Indicators

On the Payment Method screen, you will see one of these status tags:

Status
What It Means

Not Verified

You have not completed identity verification. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin.

Provide the required information and upload a clear image of your government-issued identification (ID card, passport, residence permit or driver’s license). You may also need to take a photo of yourself as part of the verification process.

Step 5: Wait for review

Your submission is reviewed by our third-party verification partner and our team. You will receive a system notification once a decision is made.

What Happens After Submission?

  • Approved: Your status changes to KYC Verified. You can now add and use cards.

  • Failed: Your status reverts to Not Verified. You receive a notification with the reason and can submit a new request.

How to add and activate a Card

Step 2: Tap "Add Credit Card"

The Add Card dialog appears.

Step 3: Enter your card information

Fill in the required fields:

  • Card number

A temporary $0.50 verification charge is applied to check if your card is active. This charge is refunded automatically once the card is verified.

Step 5: Activate your card with OTP

After adding the card, it appears with a Pending status and is not yet active for use. To activate it:

  1. Check your bank statement or SMS banking for a 4-digit BGP code (example: BGP*1234*CODE).

  2. Enter this 4-digit code in the verification field on the Payment Method screen.

Step 6: Card becomes Active

Once you enter the correct OTP code, the card status changes to Active and you can start using it for top-ups and payments.

Manage Your Cards

Each added card includes a three-dot menu in the top-right corner. Tap it to remove the card at any time.

All cards added after successful KYC are automatically approved, no additional per-card approval is needed.

You can remove Pending and Active cards yourself. If a card was rejected or you want to delete a rejected card, please contact BurgerPrints support for assistance.

Card and Top-Up Security Limits

To protect your account and prevent unauthorized activity, the following limits apply to new cards and top-ups:

Card Addition Limits

  • Maximum 3 cards per account. You can have up to 3 cards on your account at any time.

  • Rejected cards count toward this limit. If a card is rejected, it still occupies one slot.

  • You can remove Pending and Active cards yourself. To remove a Rejected card, contact Support.

  • One new card every 24 hours. You must wait 24 hours after adding a card before you can add another.

Top-Up Limits for New Cards

For cards created less than 7 days ago:

  • First top-up limit: The first top-up using a newly added card is limited to $200.

  • Hourly limit: You can perform up to 3 top-ups per hour.

  • Daily limit: You can perform up to 8 top-ups per day.

If you exceed any of these limits, you see a message explaining when you can try again.

  • Use clear, well-lit photos of your identity documents to speed up verification.
